How do you give six different buildings a unified identity? This was the question at the heart of our work rejuvenating the facades of the new additions to the WorldWide Hotels portfolio. We are proud to have helped shape how these six ibis Budget Singapore hotels present themselves to Singapore.

Inspired by the floral names – Vanda, Dahlia, Jasmine, Clove, Tulip, and Olive – and how each flower has its uniqueness, we proposed six unique personalities to celebrate the distinct precincts’ personalities and one unified identity for the design vision. To achieve this, we leveraged high-durability exterior paint systems from the 2026 Nippon Paint palette. These paint systems are specially developed for Singapore’s tropical urban context.

Wayfinding in Facade Design

The process comprises a careful study of each building’s architecture and how paint can enhance its details and visibility. Additionally, signage visibility is also vital for hospitality buildings to help guests new to the area navigate easily. The modern canopy and vertical blade signage are designed to be easy to spot.

Colour Strategy for Hospitality Brands

Choosing facade colours for a hotel is an art and a science. Facade design for hospitality brands requires a careful analysis of the surroundings.

We used a 70-20-10 ratio system. Clay Clip serves as the facade base colour. The warm neutral tone achieves three things: it gives each building a sense of stability, brings instant ibis brand recognition and trust, and stands out from the light, metallic surfaces common in Singapore’s streetscape. Rosy Dreams was chosen as the accent colour, highlighting window trims, balconies, and architectural elements like pilasters. As the primary branding element, the signature ibis Blue stands out easily.

The result is stronger brand recognition and guest perception. The terracotta facade ensures each building is not only easy to recognise, but also holds a warm, inviting presence in its district. The facade is the first impression of a hotel’s renewed story.
